Situated in the heart of the Waikato, Ruru is a prime example of one of the many rural transmission sites that JDA manages. JDA takes complete responsibility for this site, overseeing its maintenance (including monitoring) and marketing.
Ruru's primary purpose is to provide TV and Radio coverage to Hamilton and Cambridge but, it also allows 360 degree coverage of the surrounding areas and can be used for data linking between Waikato towns that do not have a direct line of site.
Ruru currently facilitates the following services: radio, television, data linking, land mobile, and safety of life.
